I like to think my approach is pretty simple, I don’t like to over complicate things, this is especially relevant when working with little ones. My style is a mixture of genuine moments of play & connection mixed with a touch of prompted & posed moments but don’t think posed as standing in one spot holding an unnatural position! More often than not it’s those in between moments that become true treasures.
Memoirs of Motherhood was created for mothers, our children & partners will always be a part of our journeys & as such are always welcome at your shoot however my work focuses on you & who you are as a woman, partner & mother.
It's time for you to have those beautiful memoirs of who YOU are, the ones that capture the love between you and your children. Your children will look back at them one day & they won't just see mum; they'll see the love, the joy, and the pieces of your soul embedded in memories you created together. They will see past ‘mum’ to see the woman that you are.
Q. How to book & what happens next?
Ready to book - head to the connect page, fill out your details. I’ll be in contact within 48hrs via email with all the information to secure a booking, you’ll be prompted to select the package you want, a contract & a questionnaire will also be sent through to your personal client booking page. Once you have selected your package, paid your deposit & signed your contract your booking will be secured, I’ll be in touch again to lock in a date.
Every connection and creation will be unique to your needs, so there is no one size fits all approach. I offer a phone call or we can catch up for coffee to discuss all the finer details of the day. This is normally organised at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled shoot date. I LOVE meeting my clients prior to their shoots, it helps everyone put a face to the name & squash any initial weirdness. During the meet/call we discuss all the questions you may have for the day - what to wear, what is in my client closet, and what else to expect.
q. do you travel?
Travel costs are included for up to 50km from Sippy Downs - Sunshine Coast, anything outside of this range will incur a travel fee. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
q. what can I expect on the day?
We’ll meet at the location, I shoot between 60-90mins - we’ll have loads of fun, chat & create beautiful memories. Being in front of the camera is hardly a natural thing for most people - including me! I’ll never leave you wondering what to do by giving gentle prompts to get you engaged & getting your little ones involved.
At the end of your shoot you’ll leave with a polaroid memento to hang on the fridge!
q. Where are you based?
I am currently based on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. If you are outside of the Sunshine Coast area, reach out & we can chat more.
q. When is the ideal time to book a maternity shoot?
This is entirely personal preference, my recommendation will always be to reach out as soon as possible to secure your preferred date - as early as you feel comfortable doing so, I hate turning people down especially due to availability. I tend to recommend maternity shoots to be scheduled from 30-36 weeks. I find this to be the sweet spot before things might start to get uncomfortable & gives us time if we need to reschedule for weather.
q. i heard you offer military members & spouses a discount?
As an ex serving military member, I support other veterans or military spouses with a 10% discount off all packages. This requires ID or proof of service.
If this is you, please let me know!
q. What kind of shoots do you cover?
My work covers all aspects of motherhood & Family - this includes maternity, new mothers & their newborns, celebrating your
breastfeeding/feeding journeys & onwards, if you are unsure please feel free to reach out & we can discuss further.
q. Do you have a client wardrobe?
Yes, I have a large range of outfits & custom pieces for the mums & some limited girls clothing - Including gowns, robes & dresses. You are always welcome to wear your own outfits. This is something we discuss & plan at your pre-shoot meet/call.
q. I'm worried my kids won’t behave.
I would say almost always clients are worried that their children won’t behave during their shoot & this will always affect the result of a shoot - my response to this is to let kids be kids, embrace who they are & enjoy the time to play & connect with them. Get on their level & let your personalities shine through, & most importantly have fun!! As a mum myself I have plenty of experience!
q. Do you offer gift certificates?
Absolutely, please get in touch & I can easily arrange this for you.
q. Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, payment plans are something that I offer all clients. Invoices are billed either in full or a pay in 4 structure. Payment plan schedules are flexible so please let me know a schedule that works for you.
q. How long after my shoot will I receive my gallery?
This varies on my current workload, all galleries are on a turnaround between 4-6 weeks. I will always keep communication open to give you current timelines & always happy for you to reach out to check in.
q. Can I share my images on social media??
Once your gallery has been delivered & you have selected your images, those are now yours to use how you wish.
Q. What if I have specific ideas for my shoot?
Q. What happens if the weather is bad on the day?
Q. How do you handle client privacy and image sharing?
I always keep space in my schedule for any potential weather hiccups, I will keep you updated in the days leading up to your shoot if anything needs to move.
Your privacy is a top priority. I respect the sensitivity of maternity, motherhood & everything involving our children. Client confidentiality is maintained at all times. Before the session, we can discuss any preferences or limitations regarding image sharing. You have the choice to decide whether you'd like to grant permission for sharing images publicly.
This shoot is about you. I absolutely encourage you to bring your ideas to the table, and together, we can collaborate and work on making sure you feel beautiful.
