For those who feel deeply and love fiercely.
Maternity, motherhood and family photographer in Gympie and the Sunshine Coast
If you’re searching for a space where your love is given liberty to shine.
You've found your place.
If you’re looking for images that are felt more than they are seen. Where stories breathe freely, and presence becomes poetry.
If you live in these moments like they’re all we have. If your memories gather value, and your soul longs for then.
This is a space for the unhurried.
The unguarded moments; the imperfect in-between.
Where pretty pictures give way to the messiness of life.
So bring me your softness, your chaos, and your calm. Bring me the love that aches, sustains, and pours through the cracks.
And let me capture it, as your Sunshine Coast and Gympie family photographer.
Honestly, artfully, carefully. And with the intimacy of someone who feels the same way.
It’s a place of warmth, closeness, and accidental beauty. Where the world falls away, and all you see is them.
It's a place of dirt-crusted fingers, unaware smiles, and tousled hair. Where you come as you are, and not as you should be.
“I couldn’t thank Rue enough! Her work is absolutely stunning and it comes naturally for her, she makes you feel so comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend Rue McConnell Photography to capture the special moments before meeting your bundle of joy. I’m glad I went with the shoot because they are definitely photos I will cherish forever.”
I don’t have many photos of my Hunter when she was a baby.
So as I’m telling your story, I’ll pour pieces of myself into every frame.
The details I wish I’d kept safe, the things I’d want captured. How I’d feel if those moments were mine.
Giving you just enough guidance to create something beautiful. And enough space for you to give me little pieces of yourselves.
And while they may be unpolished, unravelled, and raw…one day they’ll mean everything.
These small details of your lives together- noticed, captured, and seen.
Locked in and locked down, as we all were back then; snapping away with my phone, but never quite catching her.
And at the time, I didn’t think much of it. Because how could I forget her? How could I possibly forget?
But as the months crept by, she grew up, and grew away. Lost in a half-remembered haze- how small she was, how she fit against me. How her fingers would tangle in my hair.
And now my mind reaches back, and all I find are fragments.

Wife, mama, keeper of memories, and a motherhood and family photographer in Gympie.
If you’re searching for someone who understands you- who burns with the same fire, who feels what you can’t always say- I’d be honoured to tell your story.
Get in touch today, and let’s see if we’re a good fit.
